Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state that you have experienced on many levels every day. If you have watched television, driven a car and “zoned out” those are naturally occurring states of hypnosis which are just slower brain wave states such as Alpha brain waves or Theta brain waves as you fall asleep or upon waking up. Research confirms that we are in a state of hypnosis (slower brain waves) from birth to age 7 when our brain waves become faster. This state allows children to absorb and learn rapidly.

Hypnosis can simply be defined as a state of heightened suggestibility in which you are able to reprogram your mind and body for success. In other words, it’s a state of intense focus which allows for direct suggestion causing rapid change or a speed learning state. It can be an invaluable tool for changing or building new habits, behaviors, emotions and beliefs.

It is NOT mind control, manipulation, magic or occult. It is simply utilizing a naturally occurring brain wave state to tap into your own personal mind power and create new, and useful patterns and habits, that can occur automatically.

Absolutely! Anyone who is willing can experience this wonderful and relaxing state. When working with a trained professional, a customized program can be made just for you and your particular wants and desires. It can be very relaxing, but for many they find they are aware of everything going on around them and are in a “heightened state” of awareness.

No. Hypnosis is a state of mind that requires your complete consent, it is a conversation with your unconscious mind (that greater part of you that runs your automatic programs). You will be fully aware of what I am saying, and cannot be made to do anything against your moral codes. You cannot be made to tell secrets, or give away personal information.

No. Even though we use language like “sleep now,” you are completely aware of your surroundings and hear and feel everything. It’s a wonderful state of deep relaxation that allows you to make rapid changes with customized suggestions.

You can actually be wide awake with your eyes wide open for hypnosis to occur (you do watch television right?), most times, your eyes will be closed and you will feel an easy and relaxed state where effective changes can take place. There are many different techniques, and since each person is treated with the utmost of care and respect, those techniques are customized to the person and their unique makeup.

Hypnosis is utilized all over the world and is an evidence based science. It has been recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA) since 1958. There has never been a documented case of hypnosis doing personal harm. The only caveat is we do not recommend listening to pre-recorded sessions while driving or operating machinery.

There are two factors involved in any change work and that is the client’s personal willingness to change and the hypnotist’s skill. For instance, if someone comes in for smoking cessation and they are only doing it to appease their family, this will probably not work, because the person may not want to change personally. This is why we “pre-screen” to make sure someone is ready and willing to experience a rapid change in their lifestyle.

Since each session is personally customized to you, most sessions will take 60-90 minutes. I aim to provide you with a unique and personal experience, which will provide the most effective changes and efficient use of our time. Many times we will have to use a series of sessions, depending upon the nature and complexity of your changes.
